What are the benefits of becoming an Italian citizen?
There are so many benefits to becoming an Italian citizen, including the right to live, work, study and travel freely across the European Union (EU).Having a second passport has one major benefit: freedom. With a second passport, you have greater freedom to travel, work abroad, invest overseas and live the life you desire. It can open the door to avenues that were previously closed to you, whether that’s living in another country, starting a business or making a better life for you and your family.

Moving to Europe as a citizen of an EU country gives you seemingly endless possibilities for those with a European Passport such as reasons for family, work, study. Moving to Europe becomes very much easier. This was the situation Rafael found himself when he needed to move to Portugal for family reasons. Living in Europe as an Italian Dual Citizen
Living in Europe as an Italian dual-citizen expat has been quite an interesting experience. Based on what I've seen so far, I wanted to explore the topics around the cultural aspect of what it means to be "Italian" or considered to be Italian... Over the years there has been an evolution of how my perception of what ‘being Italian’ means due to my experiences in Italy and elsewhere. I also wanted to touch on how connecting with Italy has been both heartwarming and eye-opening for me... In this living abroad expat podcast episode of Not Your Average Globetrotter, my aim is to share my perspective and some of my experiences as an Italian dual citizen living in Europe for those who may be thinking about the same ‘journey’.

Italian Citizenship Podcast EP 52:
Life in Italy As an Italian Dual Citizen - What to do
Many individuals who get their Italian dual citizenship by descent (Jure Sanguinis / Jus Sanguinis) consider the possibility of relocating to Italy or elsewhere in Europe. If you are moving to Italy, it can help to be aware of how things work in Italy and the differences between life in Italy and life in the USA or whatever country someone may come from. In this episode of the Italian Real Estate Podcast, hosts Marco Permunian, an Italian attorney, along with video podcaster and dual-citizen expat living in Italy, @Rafael Di Furia - Not Your Average Globetrotter, talk about some of what you can expect if you move to Italy and some of what you need such as obtaining healthcare in Italy, the Italian Codice Fiscale (fiscal code/tax code) and other pieces of the Italian puzzle.
